About Franklin Pierce University

Franklin Pierce University is a small, private, regionally-accredited university in Rindge, which is a town in Cheshire County, in the US state of New Hampshire, with a population of little over 5000, estimated during the 2000 census. The university was established in 1962, and gained university status in 2007, being accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Franklin Pierce currently has an enrollment of approximately 1700 students and offers educational programs in numerous fields of study, including in mass communication, science and fine arts.

There are 3 institutes on campus: Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication, Monadnock Institute of Nature, Place, and Culture and New England Center for Civic Life, the university also operating Graduate & Professional Studies centers in Concord, Lebanon, Manchester, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as well as Goodyear, Arizona, and many courses are offered on-line, as well.

Athletics

Franklin Pierce's athletic teams are known as the Ravens, who compete in NCAA Division II, in various sports for men and women. Their distinctive colors are crimson and grey, and their mascot is the Raven.
